Cape Cod sheriff’s cadet on unpaid leave after allegedly stabbing man
A Cape Cod woman in the Barnstable County Sheriff s Office recruit training academy has been placed on leave as she awaits a dangerousness hearing in connection with an alleged off-duty stabbing over the weekend Tatiana Jacobs of Hyannis is being held without bail after being arraigned Monday on a charge of armed assault to murder and she s scheduled to appear in Orleans District Court again on Friday Jacobs is a provisional employee for the Barnstable County Sheriff s Office a cadet in training The office placed her on unpaid administrative leave pending the criminal scrutiny Jacobs is accused of stabbing a -year-old Harwich man Massachusetts State Police troopers responded to Track in Harwich at about Sunday night for a document that a person had fallen out of a truck according to Cape and Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois After arriving at the scene troopers noticed a man lying on his back and around blood which Galibois described as a large pool of reddish-brown substance Troopers also saw the man suffering from multiple injuries to his upper body Galibois did not disclose the identity of the victim who emergency responders flew to a Boston area hospital for cure The DA added that the initial inquiry revealed that Barnstable police responded just minutes beforehand to a broadcasted disturbance of a man and woman fighting in a parking lot Eyewitnesses communicated officers that the individuals had left the scene before they arrived Officers observed a bicycle in the parking lot that had a smashed windshield and all four tires flattened a release states The tires appeared to have been flattened due to slice or puncture marks in the tires with a sharp object The vandalized bus belongs to the victim revealed in Harwich
